Congratulations HampsterQueen. What variety are you growing. Bush Baby are going mad for me this year.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Can't remember the varieties! Every year I mean to get organised

1 yellow one whoich I bought as a plant (golden something?)

2 round courgettes (seed from Lidl)

        and a bog standard.

I think it may be because I have a bed system this year for the first time so no hard compacted soil. New neighbour also cut down a huge Eucalyptus tree and looming conifer
which has let a lot more light into the garden

I have been drying some for the last couple of days don't know what they will be like but worth the experiment as I have so many. Will be making another courgette cake tomorrow, they never go to waste.

Um, it states "Leaving the skin on the courgettes is a good way to give this soup more colour."

Who EVER peels a courgette ???

Fwuffydragon, I thought that rather strange too about the Courgettes and keeping the skin on. I still haven't made the soup yet, but I read too that the skin has most of the Nutrients, like Marrow too.

Just spent all weekend cooking courgettes; a cake, curries, soup, chutney and a puree. The puree is recommended as it uses 1.2kg of courgette.

Just picked 1.5kg & was wondering what to do with them. What does the puree taste like?

                              Puree is lovely.

Fry a chopped onion and 3 cloves of garlic until tender. Add a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric then add the diced courgettes (1.2kg). Cook covered for around 10 mins until courgettes are nice and tender. Add a teaspoon of cumin powder, a pinch of cayenne pepper, salt and pepper and 1 1/2 tablespoons of tomato puree. Puree with a potato masher and eat hot or cold. Courtesy of Madhur Hafrey.
