Hey all.
Rather than just grow salad potatoes this year (what with our expending brood!) we thought we would try 2nd early and maincrop. We chose; Charlotte, Desiree and Red Duke.
Now I think RD are the main crop right? but why then are they dying before the others? My first thought was the dreaded blight but Mr D disagrees and why would it not have affected all the others? He wonders if it is to do the massive virburnum he cut down (it had viburnum beetle) adjacent to the RD 3/4 weeks ago which is now resprouting?
We are now not too sure;
1 - if we can dig any spuds up for our lunch yet
(sure we have harvested usualy by now)
2 - if we should be harvesting our RD as the haulms are dying off yet resprouting?
3 - have we possibly got blight? - norty me has seen a couple of warnings come through the email but has been too busy to look into them
(whoops!)
Sorry to come straight on and ask but dont really have time to try and find answers to all these questions and this is the perfect "one stop shop" eh!
Hope it all makes sense and someone can answer quick as Mr D has got the spades out ready but I really need him to be photographing baby clothes for me to list on EBAY!

God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done
Will have a furtle (if Mr D. will let me) for our dinner though
