  • Composting and Wormery.

    Hi,
I started a wormery. I think i did it right.
Got 3 24l storage boxes, drilled some holes for air and drainage, in 1 of them.
Shredded some newspaper and put that and some compost in the box with the holes.
Dampened it down and added the worms i got from Ebay (around 30)
Left it for a day then added some kitchen waste.
Every time it looks good and warm out I'll put them out in yard and bring them in when it cool.
Because i had bought the white transparent boxes I've put them in a bin bag to make it darker and warmer for them.

In the box that wasn't being used i started collecting kitchen waste.
Can i leave that in there and use the storage box as composter?
    If so
Is there anything i need to do to get things started?

    Thanks

    J

P.s I've put a piece of carpet on top of wormery box and left lid off and a piece in box with kitchen waste.
I'll try and post pics soon

Not sure about the bag, they need air so make sure there are plenty of unobstructed holes

They don't like it too warm: that's why you find them on the inside lid of daleks: where it's moister and cooler
