    Compost worms

    Today, while I had the space to do it, I emptied out and turned the half composted stuff in my two daleks and amalgamated them into one. To my surprise, I found quite a lot of compost or tiger worms (the very stripey ones). Usually my dalek has lots of brandlings and I've never seen tigers in there before, or anywhere in the garden. No idea how they arrived, the house one side of me has nowt but gravel for a garden, and the other side has a handkerchief lawn and slabs.

    Nature is so full of surprises.

    I'm in Loughborough and when I went to turn over my compost bin just over a week ago it too had the stripey type of worms in it although mine is one of the wooden compost bins with black plastic on the top. My plastic daleck has the compost in it from home which I moved there last spring so no idea what type of worms are in there. Must admit I was surprised when I saw the stripey worms in my compost bin.
    The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...

      Tiger worms! I've not seen them in my bins yet. Can't complain though, the boys in there are doing a fine job

      I did see a slow worm on my plot recently, very surprised and pleased. Hope she is having a good feast on the slugs that are appearing day by day.

        Once worms find a comfy place with a good food source they will multiply very well. this is why worm farms do so well they repopulate because it suits the worms to be there.
