Hello I've recently got hold of a couple of compost bins and am getting a bit confused, a lad from work says I should keep it elevated on a couple of bricks to allow airflow but looking on the internet it looks like it should be in direct contact with the floor???
    Any help appreciated thanks
P.s I can either put them on concrete or the garden

Spunky your compost bin will work best of all if its on bare soil, have a read here about setting up your bin :-

If it's on a couple of bricks the compost will just fall out of the bottom, fill up and eliminate any air flow. I've never heard of that before - bit of an odd suggestion from your mate. They're best on the soil - as Bren said - then the worms can get in there and do their magic. You can create air pockets within the heap by throwing in loo rolls or egg boxes.
