  • Chinese cabbage rot

I went to harvest another of my Chinese Cabbages only to fine the one I pulled soft and rotten on the inside. I pulled another one which seemed fine but when I cut the root off there was rot going up into the cabbage. Luckily I was able to remove it by cutting up a bit. Any ideas what it is and how to avoid it?

I I think it's perhaps lack of water. The inner leaves start first. A good feed and some watering in the dry weather may be necessary.

Has water found its' way in from the top. Heavy rain got into our Leprechaun lettuce and they rotted.

I bet more like Scarlet has the right answer. When I tipped the leprechaun up I got drenched, it was like Greek urn, you'd notice if it was that wet.
