I have a facing heaven chilli seedling that is going yellow.

I took it out this morning and saw it pretty much has no roots. The other one is fine. All my other chillies also mostly growing fine, given that they are not under lights.

Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong or what I could try? For now I've potted it on in fresh, damp compost.

Did you pinch it out previous to this and plant it deeper to hide the legginess? Similar to how is recommended for tomatoes?

I've had this before on pepper and chilli seedlings when I planted deeper. They just don't seem to like it. They sit there for a couple of weeks, and then keel over. Some still make it of course, but some don't.

Sorry, I think it's a goner and you have stem rot :-(

Sorry, I misunderstood. Planted out deeper now, previously not. Its siblings have keeled over bar one. I've never had this with chillies before. Thankfully I have another 8-9 varieties on the go, and they are all ok. Thanks - will see whether it pulls through.
