Hi all..i started ordering seeds online last night but still ended up going to the shops today and found the seeds i was looking for at 39cents a pack from lidl!! As opposed to 99p from the company i used online definately worth a look! I ended up spending about 16euros for pretty much everything i wanted.

I buy a few things from the supermarkets, but they all seem to have the same few varieties - gardeners delight tomatoes, for example.
So I buy some staples (or things we eat/sow tons of, such as radishes) there, when I get tempted, but I also order some more exciting varieties from the various catalogues.

I've bought quite a few seeds from Lidls. The only letdown was the sweetcorn. It was a bit tough and not very sweet compared to my usual variety.Comment

I buy 90% of seeds online. Either dedicated websites for specific varieties, T&M, and sometimes eBay is a good choice too. The free seed packet on the front of magazines is almost always lettuce - anyone else notice that?
I can happily while away an hour or so in a garden centre, with it's racks and racks of seeds. Even if I don't plan on buying anything going in, invariably I'll walk out with a few packets of something.Comment

Tip for the autumn bretty, around about September/October time the garden centres start to sell off this years seed packets, they generally start off at 1/2 price, this is when you get the root crops, they reduce them again, time to pick up the unusual varieties, and normally by the end of November they are down to 10p a packet this is when you get your salads and some flower seeds as that is all that is generally left.
I love a bargain too.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.Comment

Its all about getting a bargain mikey! My lidl capucines were supposed to have ten per little pack.i had over 30 in each pack!Comment

It always pays to shop around.
You can of course harvest and dry your own seeds each year for free. Runner beans especially are good for this. They're certainly not cheap if you buy them from the seed companiesPain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.

Only failure has been my chilli's so I've just bought a mixed pack off fleebay for 99P delivered.
