I wanted to try some this year also. I sowed 50 seeds, I appear to have TWO plants! Grrrrrr

My Dad grew it abot 30 years ago, suppose to be a Cabbage Lettuce cross isn't it? If i remember it was a bit like chinese greens, could be used in salads or cooked.

I grew it last year and will be doing same again this.

Slugs are partial so protect whilst young.

The leaves are a bit bigger and thicker than normal lettuce, I pull the leaves off from the bottom as I want them, rather than pulling the whole plant.

Stem is nothing to write home about... ok in veg soup (a bit celery like) but I wasn't keen on it raw.
