    hi folks

    want to grow celery but not sure where to start in releation to soil type, pots or ground, undercover/heated etc etc any advice greatly received

    You can grow it in pots or in the ground, but it likes a rich soil, lots of feed, lots of water, outside is fine.
    You're probably better off getting plug plants rather than growing from seed now.

      I grew it once (self blanching)
      Twas horrible ... stringy and tough.

        I would agree that it is probably too late to grow celery from seed now - I sowed mine in a heated greenhouse back at the end of Feb, and hopefully will get it planted out within the next week.
