I sowed some carrots in buckets coz all my carrots in the ground were attacked by the fly.
They grew well for a while but then I found some of the leaves turning yellow so I pulled a few out and they had some damage on them. After having a furtle around I came across some little eggs of some sort, clear and full of slime when popped. On closer scrutiny the carrots had very small white finger like grubs sticking out of them.
Is this carrot root fly, baby slugs, or something else?
And how do I get rid?
    Thanks

It's likely to be carrot fly, I'm afraid. I know it's said above such and such height , etc. but that's not really true.

Not much you can do if it's them. Try to clean and freeze quickly what can be saved.

Might remember wrong, but something like 15 mm length the booggers are.

You really do need to cover your carrots with a barrier. Even then, some of the more determined little critters will get in (mine have)

They sound as if the carrot fly has attacked them and will probably be useless!

I've tried various methods to combat carrot flies, and the only method thats worked for me is enviromesh or fleece.

I think this height of flying thing is ABOVE the level that the carrots are growing so possibly a vertical shied of glass perspex or fine netting may work but for me it's easier to cover the lot with enviromesh!
