  • Can you tell the variety of pea from the seed?

I bought some pea seeds last year but didn't get to grow them. They are bright pink, wrinkly with green seeds. I'm growing them this year but just wondered if anyone else could let me know what they are called.

I can post a picture if that helps.

    Help is much obliged.

P.S they were from a weigh your own station, so no packet. Also I've moved in the last year so don't live near the garden centre to revisit and can't remember where I bought them anyway.

Bright pink? Are they treated with a fungicide?

Pink is not a normal colour for peas! I also suspect fungicide. If they are wrinkly they will be a sweeter, main crop type. The ones you can plant extra early are round seeded and not quite so sweet. I don't think, apart from one or two types like salmon flowered and the like, that I'd attempt to name a variety from a seed.
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Thanks both, I thought it a long shot. I have no idea if they are treated with anything. I bought them, put them in a bag, didn't get chance to grow them and forgot to write the name down. Oh well, we see what comes of them.

It could be mouse deterrent the seeds were rolled in that made them pink.
They used to use parrafin for that too.
I once bought sweetcorn seeds that were treated and they were pink as well.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
