  • Can anyone I.D this plant for me please

This is a random plant I have no idea what it is I'm sure is some sort of edible as I don't deal with anything other really, it has prickly leaves

Looks like some thing from the brassica family, but I wouldn't like to say what.

      Is it a turnip?
Any sign of a root forming?

What size pot is it in Shellyanne, judging by the floor tiles I'm assuming it's a flower bucket.

The trouble with the brassica family is that they all look very similar until they are nearly ready to harvest! It definitely looks like a brassica so which ones did you sow?

Yes it's in a flower bucket, the only brassicas I've sown is broccoli, there's no bulbous looking root I'd associate with turnip, I was sure the seed tray it came from, I had sown chilli rocket and coriander and this came up in the same modual as a coriander seedling. It's got me totally stumped

It looks a bit too strong for rocket, which is also in the brassica family. It may be a rogue seedling - my lottie neighbour has just shown me some of the seeds from his new packet of cucumber seeds - definitely alliums

while they look jagged, the leaves aren't prickly (bramble is prickly, gooseberries are prickly, and sloes are super prickly)

How did your plant get in the pot? Either you sowed it & forgot, or it's grown from a weed seed in the compost.

You need to let it grow a bit bigger, then photo it again

                            Haha yes my slipper
It was in a seed tray module, appeared in with a coriander and I moved it to here to try an wait it out to see what it is, if anything it will be quite nice having a suprise plant whatever it may be

It's a calabrese I had a little look just now and can see the start of the head growing, and considering the state of my other broccoli I'm feeling quite good about this 1 it seems strong, yay
