  • Butternut squash ?fleece

I have never grown butternut squash before, but I'm trying Harrier this year, have just planted them out. Is it necessary to cover with fleece cloche or will they be ok? They are in a relatively sheltered position. Thanks!

I have been over protective of mine as this is the first time I have grown butternut.

My other courgettes and pumpkins are already out with no protection. The butternut has been in the unheated greenhouse for a good 3 to 4 weeks. I will be chucking it in a growbag outside soon though as I need the space in the GH!
Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

Ok! I guess you get similar weather to us. Do you treat yours like courgettes and pumpkins then TwoSheds? I'm really hoping they do well.
I looked at the squash grower blog thingy in Liverpool, but can't go to quite those lengths

Only if a frost is forecast.
