Butter beans

Has anyone grown butter beans is it possible? I was thinking of buying dried beans from supermarket and growing them.

If it is possible how do they grow? Is it up beanpoles like runner beans?

If anyone has tried it I would be interested in knowing what results they have had and whether it's worth the bother.
