I have just planted out some Brussel Sprout - Evesham Special plants that I had left over. Have I wasted my time as they are too late to plant to get any success or will I be okay?

My local garden centre is still selling plants, go for it(mine are at the other end of the scale, waist high and still growing, that was some compost I buried in there). -

burnie thanks for that. Being new to vegetable growing it is often difficult to know what to do for the best. Especially when you try to look up information on the internet and you find that the advice is conflicting. I just get confused.
The garden centre near us is also still selling many types of Brassicas.

Conflicting information!!!!!
It's not only the internet that has conflicting advice. You can get that in the same issue of 'the' weekly garden magazine. It is always worth a try when you have something to plant out. If you've got the space you might as well use it. As long as you are not too far 'out of time' go for it. It's all weather dependant anyway so who tells the plants what moth it is.Originally posted by Artisan View Postburnie thanks for that. Remember that the top of the plants are also edible. As they look a bit like giant sprouts take them all off in December and serve one "sprout" each at Christmas dinner.
I usually remove the tops off some of them anyway as I find it helps the sprouts to bulk up.
There's also discussion about pruning off the leaves here so you can see if that helps them produce a better crop as well (maybe try it on half)
