  • Brassicas in Tubs

I'm going to grow a few cabbages, brussels and caulis in very large deep tubs. My garden is on a raised beach so full of stones and no depth of soil (couldn't even bury a mouse in it) I've bought some plug plants and am already and raring to go. I thought I read that a bed for brassicas had to be limed - do I have to bung some lime in the MPC I'm using in the pots or is there a specific compost I should use

I've grown brassicas during the winter in pots in the greenhouse.

The main problem I could envisage with growing them through the summer in pots is the watering.

Cabbages have a large leaf area which transpire water at a ridiculus rate.

If you can keep them watered.........I wish you luck!

PS They should be fine in MPC but it would be better if it was JI 3
