given its height it's probably broccoli. Can you remember which variety it is you planted?

Looks like broccoli to me. When it flowers depends on the variety.

Yes, definitely broccoli, the leaves on cabbages and caulis would look.... well more cabbagey. And it looks identical to the PSB I grow.

It says on the packet Purple Sprouting Broccoli (Early)
But it doesn't seem very early to me

When can i expect it to start to show the signs of Broccoli

I planted it as a seed in march and didn't realise it took 12 months

I think, from the size of that plant, that you might be eating it this side of Christmas. But yes, it does have a long growing season

It will crop for quite a while once it starts though, so it's worth it.

If it's the variety 'Rudolf' then they are ready for Christmas and keep going until the end of Feb. They are, in my opinion, the best flavoured too. For some reason seed companies quite often label PSB as 'early' or 'late' without stating a particular variety.

Sowing as early as March I think you PSB will be producing before the onset of winter. I sowed to early last year and had a very poor harvest before winter and that was it.

It was from a multipack of Onions, Caulies, Cabbage, Carrots, Beetroot,and Broccoli

They don't give much info only Spacings for each veriety nothing about when to sow or anything like sow to harvest times

But then againg you soon start with a steep learning curve

Erm..........I just finished eating my Rudolph PSB about two weeks ago

and I'm cropping another variety now! Both were sown about this time last year (my recently sown stuff is 2 inches high!)

For some reason my Rudolph didn't 'head up' until June!
