  • Borlotti bean question

    Hi Everyone,

I have a question about my borlotti bean harvest. I've currently got what looks like a great potential harvest of borlotti beans. They're all still on the plant and I've been leaving them to swell and do the whole big bean-thing. But now that the weather is starting to turn, I'm wondering when I need to stop waiting for the pods to turn papery and crispy and just go for the harvest?

    Any advice gratefully received.

Leave them on the plants as long as you can. They will be fine as long as we don't get a frost. The forecast is warm and dry for at least a few days, so I'm leaving mine.

Mine are staying out for as long as the warm dry spell lasts. Any that don't go dry & crispy will just go in the freezer
