  • Boo! Flattened PSB + Brussels

Bit annoyed - the weight of the snow has knocked over my PSB and brussels. The brussels are frozen on the plant too now, blah!

Bang goes my idea for xmas brussels + broc!!

When you say knocked over, do you mean the stalks have broken? If not just gently brush the snow off and the plants should recover.

Poor you, but they do say that Brussels taste better after having a frost on them Chris, and it should only be the outer leaves so all might not be lost .

Pour a can of water over the sprouts when you want to pick - it should thaw them enough to get a few

stems aren't snapped no, i've brushed most snow off - they're still quite small so we'll see if they grow any more.. Thanks for the suggestions!

My PSB fell over under the weight of snow last year too, but propped them back up again and they went on to deliver an amazing crop so I'd stick with them. I'd not hold your breath for Christmas PSB though, that is the one crop that when they say it doesn't harvest until March, they really mean it! I was still cropping into early May last year with my Claret (I love the stuff!!!).
