  • Is this blight?

My tomato plants are all in pots in a horse manure rich compost mix. The plants, which are almost exclusively comfrey fed, appear healthy and strong. However on some of the plants the odd fruit is developing what looks like grey or black rot with all the appearance of blight. It seems to affect only one or two of the more advanced fruit. The remainder of the plant is unaffected.

I am only too familiar with blighted fruit, but have never seen it on healthy plants. Blight always appears to attack the stems and leaves before affecting the fruit, but in this case the stems etc remain a healthy green. I have also never seen blight affect only the odd fruit one or two fruit on the plant.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening, and whether there is any treatment?

    Thank you

    Rob

If it's only on the fruit, I would guess it's at the bottom of the fruit.

                  Sounds like blossom end rot.

I often find that despite watering some pockets of air have developed around the roots which means they don't get the watering I do if you get me.

I submerge the whole thing ina big nucket until all air bubbles stop then feed and add some Epsom salts and find that stops the problem
