In the north we eat black peas at bonfire. Not sure if you do anywhere else.

My Granny used to serve these!
Drowned in vinegar they weren't bad.
They are supposed to resemble sheeps carlings, although why anyone would want to eat sheep poo, i have no idea!

Just had to look up what they are and they sound delicious! A Lancashire delicacy it would appear. I like Bolton anyway - lovely friendly people - so must time a visit once when I can look up a place selling them.Comment
