Looks like it's doing the trick!
...have you tried putting them all in a paper bag to trap a bit more of the gas?
Might speed things up even more?
    2nd experiment perhaps?

Wow have you got enough to make chilli jam? I have to buy mine from the Chinese cash and carry.

What sort of chilli jam do you want to do? Red hot chilli jam, smoky chilli jam, chipotle chilli jam or tomato chilli jam?

Don't know yet! Never made it before. I have about 20 chillis not a lot I know but have just noticed 1 flower and a few buds coming throug. Thought I had done the pinching at the ends
I guess I will have to cut it down next month at some time

                  Good morning all
One of my chillis that is still on my plant is finally going red.
So I guess I won't be over wintering just yet.
Still getting use to this patience thing!!!

                    Chilli update!!
Now have 4 nice red chillis in the freezer. Just picked 2 nearly red chiilis of the plant which has now joined 1 that has been in the bag with a banana and a very squishy yellow one that has got squashed back of the cupboard. (But making sure these ones don't go squashy so put right at the back out of mind and out of sight.)
And 9 green chillis with the banana.

Getting there slowly but surely and aiming to cut back the stems start of next month and been very good not watered for a while l!!

Are your plants indoors now for the winter? I'm thinking of bringing one of my sweet pepper plants in,it's on the patio table at the moment & it's got new flowers on so I'l have to cut all that off maybe? I don't usually overwinter them but it's a really nice shaped plant & it's done really well in it's small 12" deep pot,I wonder how it would be in a proper sized pot so it has to be done

Do you need the whole banana or just the skin?
