I've sown some beetroot outside about 4 weeks ago, in a line with markers. I now have some seedlings popping through but are they Beetroot or weed seedlings. The only reason they might be weeds is that I've see a few similar seedling coming through outside the area I've planted.

Beetroot is a double seed, ie. two for the price of one. If there are two the same with a reddish tinge they are probably your beetroot. Perhaps you should let them get a little bigger if you are unsure though......TxComment

Hi there- the two first leaves do indeed look very similar to many other weed leaves...but in the case of beetroot they will have red stems like this...

beetroot have red stalks, or at least the variety I have grown do, so nope not beet!My mind works like lightning, One brilliant flash and it is gone!

That's not beetroot. Beetroot looks like Digthatchicks pics. Don't know what it is but I'd have it out.
