Grow Your Own Magazine

Up until last year I've had no problems growing beetroot, but starting last year and happening again this year I'm having a problem with leaves turning purple and growth being stunted, leading to poor if any harvest.

I grow three rows, boltardy, detroit and cylindra and they are all affected. I also try to rotate where possible.

Is it some sort of deficiency?

any suggestions gratefully received.

I dont know answer Tony,but like you no probs till 2years ago then really bad crops.This year started in egg boxes(as suggested on vine),and do have bit more success,although still not brill.Also have some growing in troughs,which waiting to see results of.I rotate my crops so should be ok.I also grow bolthardy and detroit(bolthardy usually more successful for me).
