  • Beetroot - Lots of leaf growth

    Good Afternoon

I'm growing Boltardy Beetroot, in pots, and whilst I have been picking the younger smaller leaves to eat in salads I've noticed that on almost all of the plants there is tremendous leaf growth and when rummaging around the globes don't appear to be very big. Are they likely to get bigger or have I left it for to long before harvesting? If so, another lesson learned in my first year.

You need good leaf growth to feed the root. Don't panic it sounds as if they are doing well. The globes will develop in due time.

Thank you Rusty Lady. I thought for a moment it was me doing something wrong, it has been known or that I'm growing them in pots. I'll just have to try and be a bit more patient, which is becoming extremely difficult being a new grower.
