    Bean/pea question

    Hi everyone,

    Just a quick question, how many bean/pea shoots can you have to grow in one pot? How spaced out should they be and does it have to be a big pot?

      What sort of beans are you talking about? Broad, Runner, French, dwarf..............?

        If you look at the peas and beans they sell in polystyrene trays in B&Q, they are obviously sown practically touching one another. But the roots end up tangled together and then you damage them separating them out for planting. Personally, I plant them one to a (large) yoghurt pot, or three to a five/six inch pot. The deeper the roots get before you plant them out, the better. (I'm assuming you are growing them from seed prior to planting out in the garden/lottie.)
        I also make sure I use pea/bean booster (aka Rootgrow/mycorrhizal fungi) on the roots. Makes a heck of a difference, is my experience.
