What variety of aubergine is everyone growing?
I've only ever grown money maker, which I'm very happy with but I would like to try another variety as well next year ( don't want to get stuck in a rut always growing the same thing ). There are so many to choose from, Recommendations would be brilliant
I do presently have long purple sat in a shopping basket, but I'm not sure......do I, don't I

I'm growing some that were given to me by a friend. He bought the seeds back fom a trip to India. He grew them last year and says the were great. I'm afraid the only name I have for them is 'Colin's indian aubergines, pink or green' the are looking good. Unfortunately he gave me a whole tray of seedlings and when I potted them up I had 18 green ones and12 pink ones. I just can't bear to throw away plants, so am inundated. Managed to re home a few, going to have to try some outside against the south facing. house wall. Have rigged up a sort of fleece house to put them in. No idea how they will do but am hardening them of at the moment.
Dogs have masters, cats have slaves, and horses are just wonderful

I'm growing pinstripe this year - my hope is that as they are smaller they will ripen easier - I love the stripes too!

I'm growing Antigua and Ophelia F1. I grew Ophelia last year and they were incredible outside in a bucket - loads and loads of baby aubs. This year is a lot more of a struggle it feels, possibly because I'm growing a bit too much.

I'm also tempted by pretty stripy vegetables

Just going to do a bit of a gooooogle on those two. There names mean nothing to me
I must admit my money maker has been a very temperamental little .... this year . Several times I thought I'd lost them, but they are going great guns now.

I grew Ophelia last year and they were really good, but this year I was late with everything, so bought grafted Scorpio F1 which look healthy and producing flowers
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

Tricky things aubergines. Moneymaker have been consistent over the years. Bonica (recommended by someone from off of on here) seem good too.

I'm growing one Listada de Gandia as it's the only one of mine that germinated (none of the Black Beautys did). It's a fairly decent size already (for a normal 12cm ish pot) but urgently needs potting on and I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks to do that and my cucumbers and chillies.

I have two plants of Bianca Sfumata Rosa and they are now starting to flower. I did do a couple of sowings of turkish orange but no joy. I gave up on purple aubergines as I never succeded (obviously it is the purple factor not my growing capabilities )
