Are asparagus peas like normal ones?

Grew them last year, wasn't that enamoured with the crop - wasn't keen on the "frilly" texture in the mouth, but thought they'd make great plants for hanging baskets.

Mine are only a couple inches high - really must get them planted out soon I think. They are really pretty Piskie

I tried a few last year and was a bit disappointed - I thought they looked better than they tasted, but hopefully yours will be nicer :-)

Those are beautiful flowers! I've planted some too but they are taking their time with growing.

underwhelmed - pretty flowers, but they won't be getting a growing spot here next year, maybe just a hanging basket

They look very pretty, mine are still stumpy seedlings.
Shame they are disappointing to eat, I was looking forward to trying them.

I would ensure you pick them when very small, just 1" long - the longer ones were not as nice as the smaller ones and steam for a very short time. They have a strongish taste - but certainly not unpleasant - to me anyway

I gave them another chance tonight, they are really not worth the space to my mind - they are coming up and broad beans are going in - right now(ish)

I meant to grow them in hanging baskets this year but completely forgot. They're a bit Melinda Messenger in my mind - nice enough to look at, but you wouldn't want them with your dinner every night.
