  • Argh Wrinkly Peas

Hi my peas are going great guns, eaten loads so far and they've been lovely
About a third of them have gone wrinkly like the top one in the picture below
Are they OK, can I eat them, they seem OK inside
Still going to have a lot of peas even if I can't eat these.

    Thanks

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over
    here, looking through your stuff.

I'd have said that if they look okay inside, they're okay to eat.

Did the wrinkly ones all come from the same plant? Or perhaps they are from higher up and have just been starved of water in the hot weather we're having.

They are just more mature. They are perfectly edible but may not be as juicy and sweet as the unwrinkled ones.

They are just ones you've missed, they'll be ok to eat unless the peas have dried or have maggots in

Mature peas have more starch and less sugar but they are perfectly ok to eat.
