  • any ideas on why i lost a pumpkin????

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i lost a pumpkin today, it was about 56cm round, and i thought was doing well, but i went to check on them today and it had gone all yellow and soft, was wondering if the bigger pumpkin was taking all the nutrion as the bigger pumpkin is around 97cm round....any ideas on this.

this is the pumpkin which is on the same one as the one that died

Sometimes this happens, I find that the first 1 or 2 are just practice pumpkins and the plant get's it right after that...if that make's any sense. You really need SMT or reetnproper to come along and answer this one. SMT grow's giant prize winning pumpkins, I'm talking 600lb plus giant pumpkins. Have a look at his blog...here's the link.

I've sent you a reply back greencrystal. Hard to tell without seeing it but I think your 2nd pumpkin should be ok. The measurements you gave should put it at about 25lbs so I think your in the clear. If it was going to abort it would probably have done so by now.
