  • another overwinter chilli question

Here's my chilli plant a week ago. I planned to overwinter when it started to die back itself but now I'm not sure what to do as it still looks pretty healthy. Tempted to just repot into a bigger pot in a month or so.

I'd leave it unless it gets smothered in aphids. I'm no expert in chilli overwintering though.

I wouldn't repot it to over winter it. You want toto remain dormant, not have a boost of new nutrient where it's warm inside etc.

      Nice sized plant!

Thanks! Was the only chilli seedling to survive in my first year of growing lol.

Aye I'm not meaning to repot to overwinter. I'm thinking whether I need to 'overwinter' at all since days are now getting longer and it still looks so healthy. Just meaning to repot in say Feb to kick start the regrowth

I don't know anything about overwintering chillies, I try every year - this is the first year there looks like something surviving, two a few strings and one (only sown in the autumn) looking as if it's doing OK though still a young'un.

I think if I'd managed to get chillies on them like yours, I'd leave them and repot later when the days lengthen some more.

When it starts to warm up a bit - I'd repot and give it a 'tidy-up' prune, so it isn't straggly
