Hi all
I am looking to do a 'blind' moon trial this year.
What I am planning on doing is to sow 5 onion seeds into a module every day of September, and to keep all modules in the greenhouse over the winter, and plant them out in the spring. I'll be buying a new packet of seed just for this trial.
Then, I will harvest each once the tops fall over and die back and weigh them.
Once they are all out and weighed, I need to compare the weights against the correct moon dates that they were all sown on...to see whether the dates made any difference.
So, what I need is someone to note which moon day it is for the whole of September, and to keep this document for me, and we will put the data together about this time next year.
I don't want to even look at a moon diary for the whole month, and will endeavor to sow at the same time every day and will keep records on the blog as I go. The moon diary to be used is the one in my sig, just the main page [not going into any of the 3 different types, just the basic one as shown].
If there are no takers, then I will have to ask the OH but I would rather do it completely blind.
Note, the modules will all be in the same module sheets, so will all be kept together over the winter, and no additional fertiliser or additives are used, just organic compost, and the clay/home made compost at my lottie. Photos will be taken and put online.
Of course, if anyone else wants to join in - and compare notes next year, the more the merrier.
So, any takers? Someone who is a cynic but who is still planning to be here next summer would be a good partner on this.
