  • Another Broad Bean question.

I've just been up the garden to check on the beds, and the flowers are beginning to die off of my Broad Beans (Sutton).

Can someone please tell me how long it should take before the pods appear?

    TIA

When my flowers started to die back it only took a few days for the actual bean pod to start forming then it's been pretty fast track ever since. I have given all my pea's and beans a good feed as soon as the flowers started to come through in force. Seems to of worked well. Seaweed Extract, again
Those that forget the past are condemned to repeat it!

        Hi Magic Lady

Within days you'll be able to see them, but remember to nip the growing tips out if you don't want black fly it also lets them put all there energy into plumping those yummy beans up

On closer inspection just now, I HAVE PODS

It's wierd, but I've got blackfly on the runners next door, but not on the broads I'll nip the tips off though just to be safe.

When you can feel the beans inside the pods. Pod length doesn't matter(so I've been told[wink]).
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.
