Not sure who it was suggested to me to try 'tumbler toms', outside on the balcony, wanted to say a thank you, pounds and pounds and pounds, the other 3 varieties have also done well, but these little toms, sweet, and full of flavour.

Planted 6 Tumbling Toms outside not a single fruit so far Wonder why All other toms in poly tunnel fruiting -
I have two tumbling toms in a potato bag.
Loads of fruit - still waiting for it to turn red though, can't wait to see how they taste.

Mine are 4 floors up, exposed to the elements, grown from seed, watered, fed etc, 2 in hanging baskets and about 6 others in Morrisons buckets, ladened with fruits, some stems have broken with the weight, I've never really grown toms before, so pleased.DottyRComment

In my experience I've always found that tumbling toms have slightly thicker/firmer skins than the cordon cherry toms, which is a shame.
They sure are prolific though and make for lovely sun dried toms done in the oven, with some feta cheese.

Don't make the mistake made by many, Tumbling Tom are not Tumbler far from it, I grow the original Tumbler every year.
These went of the market a few years ago and so I tried Tumbling Tom, never again got skins like a rhino. Tumbler were only off the market for two years or so and were then brought back by popular demand, I can only assume that many others like myself wrote to the suppliers and asked what was going on.Potty by name Potty by nature.

Agreed, Tumbler are fantastic. Two baskets with a plant in each have been cropping for over a month now, with more than enough for two of us to use in salads and cooking. I might grow one or two cordons again next year just for fun and experimenting, but I'm still waiting for this year's to ripen, and I could have been using the space for something else, so it's Tumbler again for me next year. I think they taste great, not too sweet, and yes the skins are a little on the thick side, but I can live with that for the massive yield, and the ease of care - plant 'em and leave 'em to get on with it!He-Pep!Comment

I have to admit, I love my Tumbler tomatoes this year, really sweet. Might have to grow some more next year
