  • Am I being stupid?

My winter squash Waltham butternut should have set some fruit by now, shouldn't it?
All 3 plants have had flower buds on for about the last 3 weeks, but not opened and they all seem to be male. No little fruits behind the flowers. Is it time to rip them out?

    Yes, it's too late now.

Did you plant them out late?

They were planted out end of April I think but no later than mid may. When ever it was it was the same time as all my other squashes, which are all in the same bed and doing brilliantly.
Thanks for the reply. Going to the compost heap now via the squash bed.

Same with mine... I grew some Atlantic giant and some baby bear. PFFFFFT ! Absolutely nothing on any of them. Better luck next time.
