AP I have been asked to make an enquiry by a friend and his wife and as a man who knows his onions (pun intended) I thought of you.

They are both in their late 70s and the lady remembers eating 'sweet' onions in her youth. Her exact words were "you could eat them like apples". Her husband would like to grow some for her. Would you know what vareity they would be, or know of a vareity that would fit the bill.

    Thanks in advance Colin

    Colin,

that's quite a coincidence that you should mention onions like apples. I have customers who are really nice to me, in fact the husband is a retired solicitor and he has given me immense support in my battle with the local council. As a gesture of thanks, I gave them some a box of veg including some onions, variety tasco. I got an thank you email extolling the virtues of my veg including the onions which the lady of the house said were just like apples..
