Here's the crazy MT peas today. Some are flowering and there's even a teeny peapod

I'm not doing quite the same thing but have various tall peas growing up an arch over a concrete path (& more to go out soon and more to sow). There's a bit of a gap between the arch and the path so will be planting out some dwarf peas at the Base.

No medium sized ones, but in the words of meatloaf " two out of three ain't bad"
    Another happy Nutter...

The flowers are pretty too and different colours. Some plain white and some purply, blue, mauve pink.

The crazy mangetout have galloped to the top of their supports and are clambering over the GH roof.
I'm picking them every other day

Its been a worthwhile experiment and I'll do it again BUT I won't bother with the very short ones (Norli) next time. It didn't crop any earlier than the taller ones and the pods are small.
The best performers have been Bijou (huge pods) and Golden Sweet (smaller slimmer pods).
Shiraz, with purple pods, showed up well for picking but the pods are quite small and seemed to fill up with a couple of peas quite quickly.

I can't tell the other 2 apart - they're both green and OK.

Brilliant. Lovely and green. My Douce Provence are finished, all white with fungus and drying in the heat. But we had a surprisingly large crop and plenty for seeds for next year.

Spain is a big country: where I live, we get frosts, floods and snow, as well as raging heat.

My peas have been a disaster this year - they were struggling anyway, and the heat has killed off the bottom halves of most them. Gutted - I love fresh peas
