  • 2 questions

    1. Is this a cabbage of some sort. It was in with the PSB I planted last year.



    2. What is thus little fly under the leaves guarding little eggs?

    1. yes. well, its certainly a brassica leaf and therefore edible...not sure which kind or whether its a cross but definitely edible.

    2. Doesn't look like a predator so remove it and the eggs.

      Agreed brassica. It looks like blackfly to me. And the eggs - probably one of the cabbage whites. From memory one lays in clusters the other individually.

        They're not cabbage white eggs. These ones are grey whilst Cabbage white eggs are cream coloured.

        Anyway, there was a little fly standing over every little cluster of eggs as if it was it's own.

          Hard to see from the picture but maybe they are moth eggs, from one of the Noctuids, maybe Cabbage Moth

          I don't think they are the eggs of that little insect.
