I have not even got an advice note but I'm not counting on the free tubers to arrive (a bit like saying, if it's too good to be true, it is too good...). If however they do arrive, then I'd be very surprised & pleased of course.

Mine haven't come yet but have got so carried away with my seed & potato ordering I have no idea where i'll put them if they do arrive! As last year was my 1st year i have 2 beds 4.5ft x 22ft & i think if i put all my potatoes in i'll have no room for everything else i have ordered!! Perhaps i shall have to get a load of large pots & dot them around as i can't see me getting another bed done this year.

Just received my CC statement and me have been charged for the potato delivery that hasn't even arrived. I don't think it's right to charge for something you haven't even received, surely.

It may be too minor or not even worthwhile but I'm going to take this up with my CC on the belief that the freebie is not going to arrive. I have ordered goods many times online and any company that charges you before the goods are despatched is scam practice. I have had goods that took 3 months to arrive but never charged until they were delivered.

Default Not-a-lota-spud.

My CC was charged for the spuds months ago.

I do think somewhere in the DT Catalogue there is something about delivery dates for the spuds.... but I do think times getting now now, and it would be nice to know if they are out of stock.

Looking in the Kitchen Garden supplement they have, the Vales Emerald spuds, first Early...
DISPATCH.. We will only dispatch when the weather is suitable but would expect to start in Jan 2008 and continue until April.

Please order early to avoid disappointment, (ha).

So I would expect mine in the next week or to, or else i'm gonna phone them.

I'm the same as seasprout, my card was charged ages ago (I agree veg4681, I don't think it should be charged until dispatch!) and about a month ago I had an 'advice note' but since then........zero.
I'll give them another couple of weeks.

BTW I emailed to DT Brown (apparently they're part of Mr Fothergill) to cancel the order and demand a refund as I don't feel that I really need more potatoes (if they ever arrive at all). I always quit out if I'm charged before the order is delivered as it smells fishy . If the potatoes arrive then I'm happy for you all so good luck.

Some seed companies charge for the order as soon as they receive it - T&M charged me for my potato order back in November, the potatoes just arrived this morning If they say that dispatch is between January & April, then it's probably too early to say they aren't coming at all?

But I still think T&M is trustworthy company and the way it works with legitimate potato order/dispatch, it's probably common business practice to charge before delivery. I'm quitting out because I don't particulary feel that my order of just 0.95p for delivery was 'legitimate' but had I ordered their potato with normal price, I wouldn't be questioning anything. Companies make generous claims that they can't always commit...remember Talk Talk mobile phone with broadband offer, Hoover with holiday offer etc. Sorry I'm just being cynical, I'm sure the potato may still arrive .

SPUDS HAVE REALLY ARRIVED - TODAY! Better get chitting.

It's the nicest feeling when you don't expect it and you get it. DT Brown has definitely won my utmost respect to make order from them in future .

I never see the postie, AND I paid good money for a very obvious parcel minder. So no excuses.
