seasprout you're talking to yourself!? but yeah shallots are pretty easy to grow, just got to stop the blackbirds pulling them out thinking the tops are worms.

I'm hoping to pickle mine. have ordered variety Topper.

(Actually i'm having to shout.. currently enduring emergency electricity works out front... power went off during the washing up, and doing the laundry... had to crawl around in pitch black for 5 mins... groping for torch. power back on, but they are ripping up the street now. )

No power came back on quite quickly, but concerned it could go at any time. Torch next to me.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the garlic i ordered at the same time as my free spuds for 95p postage came this morning with a note saying that in order to qualify for the free spuds you have to order 6kg or more. nevermind - was worth a try.

Thanks Seahorse. Got to say that Dave is giving me much comfort at the moment. We are currently sharing a bottle of wine(in fear of our live obviously), he`s dealing with it a lot better than i am. His friendly fin around my shoulder is a reassurance, although he keeps warning me that BOB is here, think it`s time for him to go back in the sink (his tank has been used to bolster the front door.) Can i take this moment to tell everyone who ordered the "free spuds" that i admire you greatly. MINTY X

Don't panic Minty. It was only 95pence - even I can afford to lose that much! As everyone pointed out, it doesn't say anywhwere on the site that you need to order a minimum value before qualifying for the freebies. If we don't get the spuds, serves us right for being tight in the first place

My email i sent read......

Good evening Sir or Madam.
Please let me introduce myself. My name is Kevin Smith and i recently took advantage of your fantastic offer of 10 free tubers of Vales Emerald seed potatoes.
Such a good offer as it was i passed the details on to a forum that i am a member of , that being The Grapevine which is part of Grow Yor Own magazine.

Please can you clarify a concern that has built up in the last few days that infact we are not entitled to the free 10 tubers because we did not in fact buy a required 6kg to enable the special offer(no mention of this when ordering)

Can i add that many took up the offer and THEN ordered more produce from your company because of it.

Please can i have some clarification of wether you will be delivering the 10 free tubers and if not how you will be refunding the many 95p postage and packaging fees that have been taken.
Yours Hopefully K Smith

Your thoughts ????? Minty X

We might still lynch you Minty, but we'd be sorry about it! Just kidding.

Let us know what they say cos the barstewards have my 95pee too and if I don't get potatoes then I want it back! Has anyone had any DT Brown spuds yet btw?

Default Minty.

You sound like a politician.

I'd vote for you.

I posted a warning on the BBC Boards about the offer going ti*s up and somebody replied with this.....

"I ordered the free tatties and some seeds. Seeds have arrived with a note saying the tatties are "to follow". I spent £5.06 in total. Seems a good deal to me. Thanks for the tip."

So make of that what you will, cos I'm bamboozled.

Perhaps its still too early to send out the spuds and they'll be along soon - except Minty has just put them wise to the scam and now we won't get them!

MINTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
