| Last summer I planted supermarket Garlic in a pot, after a few weeks it died off (summer and garlic growing don't seem to mix) but it served the purpose of keeping whitefly from setting up base in my greenhouse. I also grew Basil and that seems to ward them off too. This year I am going to try keeping a pot of marigolds to see if that can ward them off. Has anyone else tried this? I can vouch that growing garlic in the autum\winter\spring and no garden nasties go near it (apart from Cats, another story). |

| Basil certainly helps in my green house as do calendula or pot marigolds, both I found to be great at control. You also have the benefit of the fact that tomatoes and basil are a match made in heaven for the kitchen.

| You can also hang up those sticky yellow cards which attract whitefly as an aditional measure. I have however found that basil and calendula do it very well.

| That is a downside Bramble which is why I just use basil and calendula. I just pointed it out as a further option. I prefer ladybirds, hoverflies and the like to eat my bugs.
