  • self opening window unit on the door?

hi! these window self opening devices... would they also open the door?! obviously the door is heavier than the window but its on rollers and doesnt have gravity against it like the window.

    anyone tried it?!

    thanks

I wouldn't think a roof opener would work due to the angle at which it operates, however a louvre opener may as it is just a piston that goes in & out.

Whether it worked or not, have you worked out how you'd get into the GH? The openers are attached to the window and the frame and have a limited opening range. It would only work if you were exceedingly thin and supple.

This wouldn't work for you but I love the video:

I can't think how you could rig something like this up, so i'd stick with using a auto opener on the roof and louvre windows instead.

Leave the door open & hang a net curtain.

i agree with vc it would be very difficult to open the door with the vent in it ,im building a greenhouse at the mo hoping it will be ready for this years use and i thinking of getting another door section so i can have 2 doors that i can leave open in the heat of summer and get a good cross breeze not sure if i`ll do that this year i might just take the back panel (opposite from the door) out and see how that gets on ,cheers

Put 3 louver vents in last backend. greenhouse is 4meters square. Best thing I have done. Just leave the door closed all the time and the air moves about better.

I have a mesh infill panel that goes in the door opening in my greenhouse on Plot 1A it keeps out the animals and allows air to flow. I'm going to make a Debris netting infill panel for my greenhouse on Plot 23B
