  • Polytunnel and me are not well..but heyho!

Last weeks winds saw the demise of my 6X3M polytunnel, I haven`t had it long! luckily it didn`t do too much damage to next doors allotment fence, still, it took me a good twenty minutes to unhitch it from all the bushes and fencing. I have salvaged a few items but not the cover, too far ripped to be repaired, so I`ve bought another, same size but without door and gutters ( £50 cheaper ) didn`t really use the gutter system and I`ve saved the door so will use it but with mods to the new tunnel, I`ve also bought some Stainless steel nuts to replace the standard ones supplied, they rusted from the condensation.
Since last Thursday I have picked up a virus that`s given me a throaty/dry/chesty cough which won`t go away! It`s stopped me from working at my allotment till yesterday. I dug over a small plot and planted peas in gutters in the Polycarbonate green house also some Tomatoe seeds, then I had to rest, now the weathers closed in for the rest of the weekend...oh dear!
Is it possible to grow chocolate eggs???

Oh yes!most definately...oh no. just remembered, this virus has made chocolate unpalatable, ugh!
think it might be from all the cough medicine I`ve taken, even Latte coffee has a different taste.

Sorry about your PT and you!!
If you wait until after Easter, the eggs will be sold off at half price. Your taste buds will have improved and you'll get two for the price of one

Oh so sorry to hear this The winds have played real havoc this year (never known it to be quite so windy lol!) and I'm surprised my PT is still standing, probably only as its sheltered on 3 sides. It's taken quite a bashing.

We've had storm this and storm that - storm Katie or something coming next? OH keeps joking when they get to M its gonna be storm Marie. I will laugh my head off if it is!

Main thing is to focus on getting better. Seems you might have picked the same type of cough I've had since last Thurs as well. Coffee which I normally love tastes like sewerage. Absolute yuck. Take the bad weather to rest up and by the time decent weather comes along hopefully you'll be good to go full steam ahead
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I will put in a lot more preparation this time, what with `storm Marie` on the horizon, guess it`s double the guards, plus I will add 4" planking around the base, this is for strimming and stop any gusts getting up the skirts!....oh stop it!
Anyhoos...this is my hundreath posting on here so ... have a lovely day.
