My newly acquired allotment has a tatty greenhouse on it with a number of missing panes. The panes are odd shapes so i dont know if i can get new ones. What else can i use to cover it and where can i get it? Many thanks

Is it glass or polycarbonate? You can pick up sheets of polycarbonate on ebay, you just cut to size with a stanley knife. You may also be able to get horticultural glass there too, but you would need to know the sizes.
As for an alternative, you could try polythene, the sort of stuff that polytunnels are made from. You would have to make sure its the thick, UV stable stuff, so that it doesnt disintegrate too quickly. Not sure where you would get this from, sorry! -

You can also get double or triple wall corex which is very strong and used in bus shelters etc!

As a side question, can you mix glass and twinwall polycarb? My secondhand g/h is also missing a fair number of panes, mostly because of my cackhandedness when dismantling it. Will a combination of both put it under unequal strain? Mine is a mix of poly and glass.
The glass isn't very resistant when a drone is flown into it.Comment
