  • Irrigation For Samuel.

Hi Samuel, you may be able to pick some bones from this:

    Parts used:
    Waterbutt - Guttering - Flower Buckets - Hosepipe - 20mm Conduit & fitting (Skrewf!x) - Tool Clips - Timber stakes.

    1. On 1 side, I attach guttering to kite & fed into waterbutt then ran an overflow from the butt into the kite.

    2. As I only had 1 waterbutt, on the other side of the kite I folded the ventilation flaps into funnels to collect rain & placed a flower bucket under each flap. A length of hose was fitted to each bucket and fed through into the kite.

    3. I then drilled drip holes into conduit pipe at required intervals then using a spirit level, I put the stakes in place, This was done by screwing tool clips onto wooden stakes and hammered into the ground until level, the pipe then pushes into the clips. I attached conduit to the hose & each flower bucket using 20mm T fittings. .......If level, the system will be balanced but you can adjust the levels to suit as I did slightly.

WOW - how did I miss this !!!

That is amazing BM, the intricacy of the pipework to feed the plants is really impressive.

Kite 1 no longer has the cross pieces, instead they have been cut off a couple of feet and a cork put in the ends. Didn't want to risk any accidents.
