  • Grey spots on Cucumber leaves

    A bit of advise please. I popped my head in the greenouse this morning and found grey spots on some of the cucumber leaves. is this a problem, or could it just be water marks?

    does it look furry?

    could be powdery mildew, they are prone to it.

        It depends on how organic you wish to be. Some varieties are more prone than others but in my experience once you've got it you won't get rid. The mildew would gradually spread over the plant. And at the end of the growing season my cucumbers have always succumbed to it. What I do is give the plants a dose of a rich nitrogen based feed so that the growing tips can race ahead of the mildew. Also prune and burn the infected leaves if there are not too many on the plant. I have to say though that this year is going down as a disaster for me cucumber wise and I normally get loads
