Grow Your Own Magazine

My new greenhouse faces South and the staging runs down the East side. The staging itself and the upper shelf get good sunshine, but I have shades on that side as well so they dont "cook".

Can anybody give me any advice on what I could grow, under the staging? At the moment, in my planning, it looks like a bit of a dead space, but it would get a reasonable amount of light towards the front.

what do you do in your greenhouse?

I've got my Charlotte in buckets in the greenhouse at the moment Jennie. You could put some under your staging and by the time they're big enough to need more space you could lift them outside. Could be a way to get really early potatoes.

Actually Jennie, this is a similar question to the one I was going to ask, we've a 10'x8' greenhouse with 3' beds either side, and are planning to grow toms, peppers, chillis, melon and aubergine, but I was wondering if there was anything anyone would recommend to grow as a low groundcover crop below these plants, or whether this could reduce our crop yields by being in competition, any ideas anyone?
