  • The greenhouse is here!

After jumping up and running to the window everytime a van or lorry went past my greenhouse finally came at about 4pm. I've only ordered a 6x4 as I wanted it close to the house (I have another space ear marked for a 6x8 at the bottom of the garden should I need additional space).

The greenhouse aluminium frame came in a small but long white box followed by a small crate type box containing the glass panels. Typical the weather has been hammering it down all day and its my partners birthday tomorrow so I have to wait a little longer for the construction or should I say arguments to start

As 95% of my garden is concrete the greenhouse will be going on part of that. I'm just wondering if to build a brick base first to Increase the height?

If you can, then yes, build a base wall. More height is always good - makes working more comfortable, and gives vines more growing room too. Gives you more choice and versatility with the staging you can put in, plus the bottom panes of glass will be more protected from accidental knocking by garden implements/brushes/footballs etc by being above ground level.

    Endless wonder.

Hayley like Mothhawk says extra hight is always good if you can manage it, mines on breeze blocks because that's what we had left over from a building project.
