Is anyone selling a gas greenhouse heater and willing to post ?
    It's a long shot I know but won't find out if I don't ask.

If it's not aloud just delete the thread

    Regards

Have never used a gas heater in a greenhouse but just a random thought, would a small camping stove serve the purpose? I've never used one so not sure of the cost & safety implications.

I had thought about this but though I'd give it a go to see if anyone was selling one and if not il buy a camping heater as they aren't too expensive and are safe reliable.

I know they are reasonably priced Ross but don't know what the running cost will be.

Looking at it it would be £5 for 9 hours heating, not sure if that's it running as high as possible or not.

Burns 100g/hour and canisters are 227g each.

I like the look of those lifestyle heaters but it's the initial outlay that's putting me off.

How about sometning like this ... PORTABLE GAS HEATER 4.5KW- SPACE HEATER - SITE HEATER / SPACE WARMER CALOR LPG | eBay ... pipe it to a regulator & use any size bottle you have, we used them on building sites, good heaters & brilliant for toasting your sandwiches on

There are other threads about heating a GH. Many of us have decided its too expensive for the returns.
What do you want to grow that needs heat? There may be other ways to do it.

                          Couple of points.

                          (1) I have a small gas fire run off those 227gram canisters, the output is so low it won't even heat my shed which has 3" thick insulation board on all walls and ceiling.

                          (2) If it burns 100 grams an hour it will go out after 2 hours and by the time the coldest part of the night comes around usually early morning it will be dead.

I wanted to start all my plants in there as i don't have space indoors to do so, it would just to keep the frost away and allow them to grow

A layer or 2 of Fleece or Bubblewrap should help keep them frost free.
